Redefining Leadership

Inspiring

Inspiring ambitious women in the world of work, through sharing authentic stories that remind us that no has yet to find the holy grail of sustainable life balance.

In fact, much of the time we are making it up as we go along, whether that is career decisions, juggling home and work responsibilities or simply creating space for themselves.

Visibility

Visibility for those women whose stories we share in their own voice. We give them permission to take the time to reflect on their journey and what they have achieved to date, whatever their starting point. A powerful and important reminder to themselves of their impact on others.

Inclusion

Inclusion of men as active collaborators and change agents through sharing their own reflections of the women who have influenced their own leadership journey and their perspectives and beliefs on gender equity

Belonging

Belonging for both contributors and readers through meaningful connections gained from access to a network of purpose driven women and men who are actively championing change.

Purpose

Purpose through our outreach initiative to encourage bright and ambitious young women from disadvantaged backgrounds to think bigger and broader. Giving them the inspiration and examples of what is truly achievable by each of them.

Sharing their own
story, inspiring others
shaping theirs

I must start with a heartfelt ‘Thank you’ to the women and men in this second edition of Wonder Women. The bar was set high by all those who contributed to the launch edition in 2021, and I am both thrilled and proud to say we are again able to bring to you a rich and inspiring group of stories that will stand the test of time and of revisiting – something I have personally benefitted from doing over the last year.

Each of these deeply personal accounts give energy, courage and comfort by showing that, although our individual journeys are unique, there are many common challenges and blocks. Our experiences, responses, emotions, hopes and doubts are all completely normal. What a relief!

I am particularly delighted that, not only does this edition contain testimony from a broader spectrum of backgrounds to last time, but we also received a larger number of contributions from authentic male collaborators too. The more diverse the audience using their voice to share genuine commitment within their sphere of influence, the greater and quicker the advent of sustainable change. The reality of true workplace equity is still some distance away and we need to go further, faster.

I must start with a heartfelt ‘Thank you’ to the women and men in this second edition of Wonder Women. The bar was set high
by all those who contributed to the launch edition in 2021, and I am both thrilled and proud to say we are again able to bring to
you a rich and inspiring group of stories that will stand the test of time and of revisiting – something I have personally benefitted
from doing over the last year.

Courage

It takes courage to share your own story. Not only does it require vulnerability, but a level of self-reflection that may bring back unwelcome memories of tough times and difficult choices made. However, it is also a powerful opportunity to stop, take stock, acknowledge the progress made (wherever the starting point) and appreciate your personal and professional achievements to date. To be reminded of all one’s positive attributes, contributions to others’ journeys and all that we have achieved to date is crucial for our confidence and positivity.

We must be kinder to ourselves and celebrate the milestones and wins – both micro and macro – along the way. It’s worth
reminding ourselves that it is often not the giant leaps that bring sustainable change, but those small, achievable steps which keep us consistently moving forward, whatever the ultimate destination.

For the readers and beneficiaries, it can help them feel less alone and unique in navigating barriers to fulfil their ambition, follow their passion, have purpose, make a difference and be authentically HAPPY (and what we’ve heard time and again is
that this last one is still a work in progress for many…).

Finally, huge gratitude and thanks to each and every contributor to date who has put their faith and great personal effort into
aligning themselves with a new founder and a still-growing start up. By doing so they have given SHe2 Leadership an accelerated role in the development of a new workplace paradigm: a global community where women and men truly support, share, and connect on an emotional and practical level – and by doing so paradoxically help to achieve their personal and company goals much quicker. Integral to SHe2 Leadership’s part in this is the Wonder Women franchise, a key pillar in our mission to make a tangible difference to people at all stages of their careers.

Happy reading.
